OSU Cowboys vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders Gambling Prediction & Week 10 Preview

Oklahoma State vs Texas Tech College Football Spread/Handicapping

This is an important game for both teams in what should be an interesting race in the B12 over the final month of the season. The Cowboys and the Red Raiders are two of the three teams with one league loss so far, so whoever loses this one is likely eliminated from contention given there are still two undefeated teams.

Nobody is talking about them the but OSU will be central to how things shake out.

Oklahoma State

The Cowboys have to be kicking themselves for losing at West Virginia – a game in which they outgained the Mountaineers. That game cost them whatever margin for error they need to ultimately become conference champs but with games left against undefeated Texas and Baylor they can control their own destiny.

This year’s Okie State team is good but not great and is searching for answers at QB. Senior Clint Chelf got the start last week, and they won big against Iowa State, but it wasn’t because of him.

Junior running back Desmond Roland erupted for 219 yards and 4TDs, perhaps permanently putting himself ahead of senior Jeremy Smith who has been nonexistent since the opener.

They are likely going to need to be able to both run and throw effectively to win this contest on the road. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Especially if they are are not able to convert turnovers into points like they did last week – fumble and interception returns for touchdowns.

Texas Tech

Everyone knew the Red Raiders were a bit of a paper tiger but they showed fairly well in their loss at Oklahoma last week.

They were able to throw the ball well against the Sooners defense but a couple of interceptions by Davis Webb were critical. Also, the Sooners were able to run all over Texas Tech to the tune of 277 yards as the Red Raiders defense was soft.

The key for TT is being able to play from in front where their lack of a stout front defensively is less likely to be exposed.

They know that but so do all of their opponents. It will be a challenge getting the Cowboys to play the way they want them to on Saturday.

If they can than this should be a very good game.

If OSU has the same kind of success as the Sooners the Red Raiders may yet show again that their early record and ranking were primarily a result of weak competition.
