On the season Pitt is 2-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 1-1 and Syracuse is 1-3 ATS with an Over/Under record of 2-1.

One thing Syracuse does well is air out, as they have the nation’s 10th ranked pass offense led by QB Ryan Nassib. In the last loss to Minnesota he had his lowest passing yardage game of the season and he only threw 1 TD and had 2 INT. Marcus Sales and Jarrod West are each averaging over 14 yards per catch on the season and they will be facing a Pitt pass defense that ranks a solid 24th in the nation.

Cuse has a decent rushing offense with their 2 leading rushers with over 400 combined yards and each averaging over 4 yards per carry. The Pitt run defense struggled in the first 2 games, but has played better since and that unit ranks a respectable 49th in the nation. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Like Syracuse the Panthers have a solid passing offense led by QB Tino Sunseri, who has passed for over 620 yards with 6 TD and 1 TD in his last 2 games. Leading WR Mike Shanahan is 6’5″ and may cause problems for an Orange pass defense that is solid ranking 22nd in the nation.

While the Syracuse pass defense is pretty good the same cannot be said about their rushing defense that ranks 83rd in the nation. Pitt leading rusher Ray Graham has 94 yards in each of his last 2 games and he is averaging over 5 yards per carry on the season.

In their last game Syracuse only lost by a TD and they committed 4 turnovers and did not force any. They have to hold onto the rock in this game.

In some trends for this Big East match up Pitt is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall, 8-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record, and they have an Under record of 4-0 in their last 4 road games.

Syracuse is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, e 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall, and they have an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

Pitt has covered the spread in 5 of their last 7 games facing Syracuse.

Jason’s Pick: Cuse is at home, but I think Pitt is back on track and they will easily win this game and cover the spread.
