The Syracuse Orange take on the Cincinnati Bearcats this upcoming Saturday afternoon at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, OH. in a Big East showdown. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

Syracuse is coming off a huge 19-14 win over then-No. 20 West Virginia in one of the biggest conference wins for this team in a number of years. The Orange covered as a 13 ½ point road underdog and the total stayed ‘under’ the 43 ½ point line. The win took their record to 5-2 both straight-up and against the spread in what has been a monumental turnaround from last season’s four win campaign. They are now 2-1 in Big East play.

The Orange has been getting it done with solid defense and by keeping the ball on the ground. They are ranked 28th in the country in points allowed, giving up an average of just 19 points per game. Their ground game is averaging 154.1 yards per game, ranking them 54th in the nation. RB Delone Carter has led the way with 637 yards on 121 carries. He has also rushed for six TD’s this season. RB Antwon Bailey has added 314 yards on 59 carries in a back-up role. NFL Betting

Cincinnati got tagged with its first conference loss by falling to South Florida last Saturday 38-30 in an uncharacteristic offensive outburst by the Bulls. The Bearcats failed to cover as a 9 ½ point home favorite and the total line went way ‘over’ the 48 point line. Cincinnati is now 3-4 both SU and ATS for the year and 1-1 SU in conference play.

Last year’s undefeated regular season is just a distant memory as the Bearcats defense has struggled to keep opposing teams out of the end zone this year. They are ranked 51st in pointed allowed, giving up an average of 23.4 points per game. Their offense is ranked 47th in scoring, averaging 30.3 points per game mainly behind a passing game that is averaging 282.3 yards per game, which is currently 20th best in the country. QB Zach Collaros has completed 139-of- 225 attempts for 1918 yards and has thrown 20 TD’s against just four interceptions. Cincinnati WR’s D.J. Woods and Armon Binns have combined for 84 receptions for 1370 yards and 15 touchdown catches and are one of the best pass-catching duos in the country.

Syracuse is 6-4 SU in its last 10 games and 7-3 ATS. The Orange are 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six games on the road. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of their last 10 games overall.

Cincinnati is 5-5 SU in its last 10 games, but just 3-7 ATS. The Bearcats are 3-2 SU in their last five home games and 2-3 ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in seven of their last 10 games overall.

Head-to-head, Cincinnati has won the last five games SU and is 3-1-1 ATS. Last season the Bearcats crushed the Orange 28-7 as a 15 ½ point road favorite and the year before they won 30-10 as a 21 point home favorite.

This season bears little resemblance to the last two as these teams are headed in opposite directions this year. The Orange may not get the otright win but they will cover the 10 ½ point spread.
