The Connecticut Huskies take on the Louisville Cardinals in this Big East matchup of 3-3 teams this upcoming Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

Connecticut was off this past week, trying to erase the memory of a 27-24 loss to Rutgers in a game it was favored to win by five points on the road. The total went ‘over’  the 42 point line. The loss dropped the Huskies to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Consistency has been a problem for this team all season long as they have had trouble playing up to its capability week-in and week-out.

UConn’s offense is led by a powerful rushing game that is ranked 30th in the nation; averaging 196.3 yards per game on the ground. RB Jordan Rodman leads the team with 761 rushing yards on 122 carries for a solid 6.2 yards per carry average. He also leads the team in touchdowns with eight. QB Cody Enders, who replaced an ineffective Zach Frazer as few weeks back,  has completed 60 percent of his passes for 471 yards and has thrown five TD’s. NFL Betting

Louisville has played much better than the team that only won four games all last season. The Cardinals are coming off a tough 35-27 loss to Cincinnati in a game they were a 2 ½ point home underdog. The total went ‘over’ the 55 ½  point line. Louisville only trailed the Bearcats by one point midway in the fourth quarter, but Cincinnati QB Zach Collaras’s 62 yard touchdown pass (his fifth of the game) to WR Armon Binns with around nine minutes left to play gave the Bearcats the lead for good.

The Cardinals’ offense has done an even better job running the ball this season than the Huskies as they are averaging 219.7 yards per game on the ground, ranking them 18th in the country. RB Bilal Powell has been the workhorse so far with 898 yards on a 115 carries. He is averaging 7.8 yards per carry and leads the team in scoring with nine touchdowns.

Connecticut is 7-3 straight-up in its last 10 games and 6-4 against the spread. The Huskies are 2-3 both SU and ATS in their last five road games. The total has ‘over’ in four of their last five games overall.

Louisville is 4-6 SU in its last 10 games and 5-5 ATS. The Cardinals are 3-3 SU in their last six home games but just 1-5 ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of their last eight games overall.

Head-to-head, Connecticut has won the last three games SU and five of the last six ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in three of the last five meetings. The Cardinals know they need to win games like this to gain any respect within the conference and this year could be their best chance in the last couple of seasons to upset the Huskies, especially at home.

Betting Trends:

Connecticut is 2-6 SU in its last 8 games on the road
Louisville is 7-16 SU in its last 23 games
Louisville is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Connecticut
Connecticut is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games

The Pick- Louisville + 1 ½
