The Syracuse Orange open their 2010 Big East conference play against the South Florida Bulls this upcoming Saturday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com

Syracuse comes into this game 3-1 both straight-up and against the spread, but the last two wins have been against IAA programs. The Orange opened the season with a 29-3 win over Akron out of the MAC. They covered as an 8 ½ point road favorite and the total stayed ‘under’ the 42 ½ point line. As a 13 ½ point road underdog they could not cover the points in a 41-20 loss to Washington, but the total went ‘over’ the 52 point line.

The Orange offense is led by QB Ryan Nassib, who has completed 61-of-105 attempts for 860 yards and nine TDs, while throwing just two interceptions. WR Van Chew has been his primary target as he has 19 receptions for 343 yards and is averaging 18.1 yards per catch. RB Delone Carter is the team’s leading rusher with 73 carries for 419 yards and five TD’s.

South Florida is also 3-1 SU but 2-2 ATS. Its only setback this season so far was a 38-14 loss to Florida on the road as a 14 ½ point underdog. Last week the Bulls were a 21 ½ point home favorite against Florida International and they came away with a solid 31-3 victory. NFL Betting

The Bulls offense revolves around a powerful rushing attack that is ranked 31st in the nation. They have a trio of backs that have combined for close to 650 yards rushing and seven TD’s. RB Moise Blancher leads the group with 231 total yards but Demetris Murray is tops with a 6.2 yards per carry average. QB B.J Daniels has thrown for 560 yards and four TD’s, but has also thrown five interceptions.

Syracuse is 4-6 SU in its last 10 games and 6-4 ATS. The Orange are 1-4 SU in their last five games on the road and 2-3 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in seven of their last 10 games.

South Florida is 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in its last 10 games. The Bulls are 6-1 SU in its last seven home games and 4-3 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in three of their last five games.

Head-to-head, South Florida has won the last five games both SU and ATS. The average margin of victory in these five games has been 24.2 points with the closest result being last year’s 34-20 win in Syracuse with South Florida giving 7 ½ points. There is little reason to believe this one-sided series is about to change, so stick with the Bulls minus the points at home.
