First-year starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert who currently leads the Big 12 in passing efficiency at 168.6, and has retooled Missouri’s passing game. The Tigers will need to address its running game, which have converted just seven of its 15 red-zone opportunities into touchdowns, the lowest rate in the Big 12, if the want to make a run at the division title. Missouri has an adequate defense but gave up 218 rushing yards against the Wolf Pack in their last meeting.

Nebraska’s defense has improved from last season, and is ranked No. 3 nationally in scoring defense (7.0 points per game) and No. 23 in total defense (285 yards per game). The Huskers offense still needs some work and will need to move the ball better inside the red zone if they want to beat the Tigers.

Thursday night’s game will be pivotal in the race for the Big 12 North, which has three main contenders—Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas.

Missouri breaks into the Top 25 while remaining idle for the week. They will now get a chance to move up a bit if they can knock off Nebraska. I like the Tigers as 3 point home dogs.

90 % chance of heavy rain = an edge for the team with the better lines and running game. Nebraska 35 – 17
