Mississippi St. Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide Free Gambling Prediction & Week 9 Preview

Bulldogs vs Crimson Tide NCAA Football Spread/Handicapping

Mississippi State is undefeated but that is likely to change this weekend.  This week marks the start of a brutal stretch that includes road game at Alabama and LSU sandwiched around a home date with Texas A&M.  Odds are this is a 7-3 team heading into the final stretch.

Mississippi State

It was fun while it lasted but you can’t demand respect from beating the teams they have.

Their best win was against Tennessee a team Alabama crushed last week.

As the Bulldogs have been collecting wins they have been racking up the numbers.

Their defense in 9th in nation in points against and the offense is averaging 36ppg.  QB Tyler Russell is a big guy who has really improved his efficiency  with a completion percentage at 60% and just one interception on the season.

Those numbers are going to be tested by the number one defensive team in the country.

As you can see by the number oddsmakers don’t think much of the Bulldogs resume to this point either.  It is hard to imagine them giving Alabama a decent game.  Mississippi State has lost the last 4 in the series and only last year covered the spread at home by just a half a point.

This is the biggest number in the last 10 years of the series but don’t let that suck you into backing the Bulldogs.

Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide have cruised to this point.  Despite losing important pieces from last year’s defense they are once again leading the nation and their offense seems to have a lot more juice than in the past. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Mississippi State may have their attention because they have yet to lose this season but the most important game of the regular season is next week when they travel down to Baton Rouge to face LSU.

Alabama has to be the most balanced team in the country averaging 219 yards rushing per game and 220 yards passing.

Freshman running back TJ Yeldon has lived up to all expectations while QB AJ McCarron has yet to throw an interception.  They aren’t flashy or gimmicky they just take advantage of great field position, move the ball and score…and prevent opponents from scoring.  Simple but effective.

While Alabama hasn’t been threatened this season they haven’t been a moneymaker either.

They are just 4-3 ATS this season including 1-3 at home.  They are certainly capable of shutting down any opponent or scoring lots of points but they tend to do a bit of both in a way that leaves bettors asking why me?

Tread carefully.
