Utah State
You could make a compelling argument for Aggies QB Chuckie Keeton being the most indispensable player in college football – sorry Braxton. Two years ago this was a program on the rise but with no Keeton last year and more injuries this season Utah State is retreating back to the depths of the conversation. They certainly have a chance to make a splash this weekend. It’s a rivalry game so you never know right.
Even though Keeton grabbed all the headlines when the Aggies have been really competitive the last couple of seasons it has been because their defense has been really strong – they seem to have lost that edge as of late.

The offense is not helping out either as their lack of production has put more pressure on the D and forced them to be on the field more than they should.
BYU
For the Cougars to succeed in achieving a really memorable season they cannot afford to take any games off this season. On the surface this looks like a great opportunity to build some style points but sometimes wacky things happen in those late games that nobody says they are watching. Given the states of these two programs right now that seems unlikely but that is why they play the games.
To stop the Cougars you have to be able to stop Taysom Hill. Both running and throw in he is the engine that makes the BYU attack go and as long as they keep winning he will be in the conversation for the Heisman. One of the reasons he succeeds is that the Cougars are very physical up front. They do not always get the best talent but their players are generally more mature physically thanks to frequent Mormon mission participation.
