BYU

The Cougars season really fell apart last week.

They were hosting Utah State and not only did they lose the game but they lost all everything quarterback Taysom Hill. It was an absolutely crushing blow made worse by the fact that his backup, Christian Stewart, was terrible in relief throwing three interceptions.

Things are not going to get much easier this week as they hit the road to face UCF. I have to admit that I am not overly familiar with the BYU roster but they might want to look in a different direction than the senior.

If the Cougars can not get better play out of the quarterback position they are going to lose again on Thursday night.

It is not that they were a one man team but there margin of error was not that great no matter how badly they beat Texas. Furtherm they are not catching the Knights at the ideal time with these teams trending in opposite directions. Unless you are getting insight from above stay away from BYU right now.

UCF

After a couple of tough losses to start the season things are starting to turn around for UCF.

They are on a two game winning streak and seemed a lot more like themselves in a road victory over Houston last week. The defense was impressive in bending but not breaking and forcing turnovers while the offense did just enough.

Iowa State

This is definitely not as good a team as last year’s but it looks like the AAC is going to be pretty wild this season and they will be in the mix.

The Knights are still not firing on all cylinders, swinging from a top 3 picks to an inexperienced quarterback will do that to a program.

As long as the defense plays well they should be in all of their games from here on out. The problem is Justin Holman is not a playmaker the way Blake Bortles was.

Also, when is William Stanback going to start flashing his next level ability…perhaps both will be better at home.

UCF is a no brainer here.

4* FREE NCAAF Score prediction:  UCF 27 – BYU 10

The Cougars might not be as out of sync as they were when Hill first went down but on the road they won’t be much better.
