Bowling Green

The Falcons have a 5-1 record in the MAC and need just one win over their final two games to clinch their spot in the Championship Game.

The East is probably the weaker of the two divisions with no other team posting a winning record overall thus far.

Bowling Green is offense first this season and they are probably going to have to put up some serious points given their 100th ranked defense is pretty sieve-like most of the time.

On the road that is unlikely to change Wednesday.

Last year these teams played a tight game with Bowling Green losing at home.

This season the Falcons will look to flip the script thanks to an improved offense that can put points on the board and is pretty balanced. They want to win the time of possession on the road but top running back Travis Greene is questionable.

That will put that much more on the shoulders of QB James Knapke

Toledo

In the MAC West there are three teams with identical 5-1 records.

The Rockets are in that group but the way things have played out in terms of who beat who I am not sure how they would fare in terms of tiebreakers. Their lone loss was at Northern Illinois in a close game last week. If there is a hangover for this one then there chances are likely to be shot with a loss.

They have a similar profile to Bowling Green in terms of being much better on offense than defense this season.

With RB Kareem Hunt leading the way the Rockets are even more balanced than the Falcons.

Hunt continued his streak of rushing for 100 or more yards in every game this season last week but you can argue it was his worst game of the year as he only averaged 6.6 yards per carry.

At home you can bet the Rockets will be more than happy to let him run them to victory.

He and new QB Dwight Macon, who is normally a receiver are a dynamic duo running the ball.

NCAAF Handicapping Trends:

  • Under is 4-0 in Falcons last 4 games following a S.U. win.
  • Falcons are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
  • Under is 5-0 in Falcons last 5 games overall.
  • Under is 6-0 in Rockets last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
  • Rockets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss.
  • Over is 6-1 in Rockets last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
  • Under is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings.
  • Falcons are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Toledo.
  • Home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

NCAAF Prediction:  Odds are OFF

I would feel better if the Rockets were more set at QB but at home and with a lot on the line I think they will show up.

4* FREE NCAAF Score prediction:  Toledo 42 – Bowling Green 35

No line posted but as long as it is in the -3 or better range take Toledo.
