The Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of only nine teams to rank in the top 25 nationally in scoring offense and scoring defense, and should have no problem remaining undefeated at home while getting one step closer to the Big Ten Championship, following their bout with the struggling Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday.

Purdue

The Boilermakers (3-5) lost their third of four games after 1 38-39 loss at Minnesota two weeks ago.

Now with an extra week to prepare, Purdue will have a chance to try and perform some damage control on a defense that is allowing 31.3 points and 429.3 yards per game to its opponents.

Meanwhile, the offense is led by quarterback Austin Appleby, who is completing just over 60 percent of his passes for six touchdowns, but has also tossed four interceptions.

Five of those touchdowns and three INT’s have come in his last two games however.

Danny Anthrop and Justin Sinz have been Appleby’s favorite taggers, with the duo combining more than 700 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

The Boilermakers ground attack is its engine room, with Akeem Hunt leading the way with 640 yards and five touchdowns.

Nebraska

The Cornhuskers (7-1) ground game continued its dominance, rolling up 292 yards in its last outing against Rutgers.

Ameer Abdullah and dual threat quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. have combined for 1,750 yards and 20 touchdowns to lead a rushing attack that is averaging 6.2 yards per carry.

Abdullah has racked up 371 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in his last two games alone.

Armstrong Jr. is also providing plenty of power to the Huskers’ passing games, completing 54.5 percent of his passes for 12 touchdowns.

He scored three total touchdowns in Nebraska’s win over Rutgers.

Defensively, the Cornhuskers are allowing 20.4 points and 339.8 yards per game, while forcing 12 turnovers and collecting 18 sacks.

Week 10 NCAA Football Spread Prediction

Nebraska is playing well on both sides of the ball, and Purdue is just not getting it done offensively or defensively.

And while this is a big spread, I think the Huskers’ get it done.
