California Golden Bears vs Stanford Cardinal NCAA Football Odds
The Stanford Cardinal come into this one with revenge on their mind. For the second season in a row, they saw their BCS title game hopes go down in flames to the Oregon Ducks, and no one wants to be the next team they play.
Sadly, the team that gets that honor is the Cal Golden Bears, a team that may be up to the challenge after winning their last two games.

The G-Bears sure have their work cut out for them this week. They did become bowl eligible for the first time in two seasons a week ago with their victory over lowly Oregon State, but the Beavers don’t have an angry Andrew Luck.
Cal has six wins this season, but they have had the benefit of a pretty easy schedule to get to that mark. They are facing a completely different animal in the form of a very motivated Stanford Cardinal squad.
On offense the Bears have a fairly balanced attack, and they try to mix it up regularly, but not always effectively. The running game is definitely their bread and butter as quarterback Zach Maynard just hasn’t been getting it done on a consistent basis this season.
The man to look out for on Cal’s team is Isi Sofele. He is coming off of a career day, and is having a monster season in general. If Cal are to spring this monstrous upset, he will be a central figure in that accomplishment. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
In contrast, you have the Stanford Cardinal offense that everyone knows what is going to be brought to the table. The best quarterback in the country, and possibly the best college quarterback of all time. Even though he was shut down by Oregon last week.
This is a team that ranks in the top 25 in almost all categories. They come in at 22nd in the passing game, 19th in the running department, 5th in points per game, and 25th in scoring defense.
They have two players to key on in this one. The first being running back Stepfan Taylor who has had an outstanding season. He is nearing the 1,000-yard mark and will surely surpass it, barring injury in this one.
Then of course you heralded quarterback, Andrew Luck. The probable number one pick in the upcoming NFL draft. He has a 29 to 7 touchdown to interception ratio on the season, and leads his team in points in nearly every game.
Let’s also not forget a staunch defense, who although were schooled by the Quack Attack last time out, are super talented bunch and still rank seventh in the nation.
Matt’s Prediction: Stanford 52, Cal 16 —
You know what you are getting with these two teams at this point in the season.
For Cal, you have a team that is inconsistent through the air. You also get a team that is very turnover prone. On the other hand, you have the one loss Stanford Cardinal who have the best quarterback in the nation, to go along with a running back that is having a monster season and a solid defense.
