Both teams are bowl eligible, but are coming off rather disappointing seasons seeing as they had previous hopes of a national championship.

LSU

There is no doubt that the strong suit of the Tigers is their defense.

With a scoring defense ranking fifth in the nation, they are holding opponents to an impressive 16.4 points per game. In the last four weeks they have been even better limiting their oppositions to only 11.8 points per game.

LSU comes into this game after dropping two straight, last week 17-0 to Arkansas and two weeks ago 20-13 to Alabama in OT. They rank near the very bottom in the country in passing yards per game averaging only 169.1.

Although their season will be considered, by them and many others, a disappointment they would like to kick this new rivalry off with a win against the Aggies. This is the first season that LSU will not conclude with a game against long-time rival Arkansas.

The Tigers will look to keep this game as low-scoring as possible and use their defense as offense. With an offense that has struggled immensely and a defense that has played extremely well, LSU will hope to get contributions from sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings and defensive tackle Christian LaCouture.

Texas A&M

After replacing Kenny Hill, Kyle Allen has played surprisingly well. When the Aggies dropped three straight, Coach Kevin Sumlin decided to give Allen an opportunity to prove himself. In three games Allen has thrown for 620 yards and 8 touchdowns with only three interceptions. Allen lost his first game last week against Missouri 34-27, but this was after his impressive 41-38 victory against powerhouse Auburn.

They were previously ranked in the top ten in the country, but after three straight losses to teams ranked in the top 15 they have fallen out of the ranks. If anything good has come out of this season it would have to be the discovery of the freshman quarterback.

Allen has developed a strong connection with receiver Josh Reynolds. The two have hooked up for 213 yards and four touchdowns in the last two games. If the Aggies want to end their losing streak against the Tigers it will have to come with big games from Reynolds and Allen.

This year A&M is 10th in the nation with 321.2 passing yards per game to go along with 36.0 points per game which is good for 23rd overall.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • LSU is 2-4 ATS in their last six road games
  • Texas A&M is 0-5 ATS in their last five home games
  • Texas A&M is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games
  • Total has gone under in 5 of last 6 LSU games

Week 14 NCAA Football

This game will be a battle between the strong passing attack of the Aggies and the strong defensive secondary of the Tigers. The winner of this game will be determined by who wins this battle. Freshman quarterback Kyle Allen of the Aggies is still looking to prove himself to the country and what better time to do that on national television on Thanksgiving Day.

The Aggies passing attack will be too much for the LSU secondary and they will go on to take the first game of this new season-ending tradition.

Texas A&M 28, LSU 17

This is a good spot to get some value for A&M. They will end their three game losing streak against the Tigers and end the Tigers streak of 15 years with at least eight wins or more.
