The Bulldogs have national title hopes on the line, but it won’t be easy playing on the road seeing as the home team has won nine of the last ten match-ups.

Mississippi State

A victory in this game would result in a possible Western Division Title and a spot in the first 4-team college football playoff for the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen has been very successful in this rivalry, winning four of five in his tenure.

Quarterback Dak Prescott has been effective this year, throwing for about 2,700 yards and 23 touchdowns. It will be hard for him to top last years performance in which he only played the fourth quarter, but led his team to a 17-10 win in overtime. Following a loss against Alabama where Prescott threw three interceptions, he tossed three touchdowns in a blowout win against Vanderbilt.

The rushing attack has been a major part of the Bulldogs’ success, ranking 19th in the country they average 246.8 rushing yards per game. With Prescott being a dual threat quarterback and Robinson rushing for over 1,000 yards they have racked up 23 touchdowns on the ground.

The most impressive stretch of the Bulldogs season is undoubtedly the three consecutive wins against top 10 opponents.

De’Runnya Wilson has led the receivers catching six touchdowns for 458 yards. He needs to have a big game in order for Mississippi State to survive and advance.

Ole Miss

The Rebels are led by quarterback Bo Wallace, although he has a sprained ankle he is expected to play this week. He has thrown for nearly 2,800 yards this year to go along with 22 touchdowns. Wallace’s performance will be a key indicator in the outcome of this Egg Bowl.

Ole Miss started off this year rolling with seven straight wins, but have followed those victories up by losing three of the last four.

The defense has been arguably the best in the country, ranking 1st overall in points allowed with 13.5 per contest. Also, they have allowed an incredible nation-low 16 touchdowns all year.

Unfortunately, the Rebels’ no longer have a chance at playing in the college football playoff but would love nothing more than to spoil the Bulldogs opportunity to compete in it.

However, they have lost some very key parts to the team during their losing streak. The loss of star receiver Laquon Treadwill and linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche could be the main reason for the Rebels’ collapse, but they will look to overcome these obstacles in their final regular season game.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends

  • Bulldogs are 3-0 ATS in their last three games.
  • Bulldogs are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 conference games.
  • Rebels are 0-4 ATS in their last four games.
  • Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games.

Week 14 NCAA Football

With this game having major implications on the new final four playoff system, I expect Mississippi State to come out fired up. Especially after last years game where Ole Miss made fun of Coach Mullen, the Bulldogs’ will come away with this one.

The injuries to Ole Miss will be to much to overcome along with how well the Mississippi State defense has been playing. Look for the Bulldog defense to force multiple turnovers and set up Dak Prescott with short field opportunities.

NCAA Betting Pick 4* Mississippi State -2.5

The only thing keeping this line close is the fact that Mississippi State is playing on the road and that has played a huge role in past meetings.

Mississippi State 31, Ole Miss 17

I see a lot of value in taking the -2.5 and believe that Mississippi State will win this game by multiple scores.
