Week 3: Golden Flashes vs Buckeyes Predictions

College football week three betting action sees the Kent State Golden Flashes taking on the mighty Ohio State Buckeyes at the Horseshoe in Columbus.  Cappers Picks provides free college football handicapping tips all season long.

Ohio State will be out for blood this week and Kent State will be the victim. This was going to be ugly no matter what but after last week, a little bit uglier.

Kent State

Kent State may not be FCS but they are going to be a sacrificial lamb to what should be a very ornery Buckeyes team right now. It is never easy going on the road when you are a MAC team playing at the B10 but the thing that sometimes is an advantage is taking the opponent by surprise.

After back to back losses in which they scored a combined 27 points the only surprise will be if they can stay in this thing for as long as a quarter. This is not a good Kent State team and it might be worse than expected.

The Golden Flashes are really hurting on offense this season.

Last year they had the threat of Dri Archer to hit a home run on any play and without that they are really struggling this season. Quarterback Colin Reardon better have his dancing shoes on as the Buckeyes will attack him from every which way.

It is going to be a lot of three and outs for the Flashes until the subs come in.

Ohio State

After last week you can make an easy case for Braxton Miller as MVP this season.

Sure the Buckeyes were oK against Navy in the opener but against a good Virginia Tech defense J.T. Barrett really struggled. Running around for his life he threw three interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown in a double digit loss.

This doesn’t mean that Ohio State is not still a viable contender for the B10 Championship but with Michigan State also losing I think it will be tough for a B10 team to get into the playoffs.

This week will be a time to get back on track for the Buckeyes.

Ready or not the job is Barrett’s and he will enjoy not having to be pressure nearly as much this week. I normally hate playing with so much chalk but I just don’t see how Kent State is going to have any sustained offense this week.

They are going to be barely average by MAC standards this season so expect a rout.

NCAA Football Week 3 Prediction: 4* Free Play on Ohio State -32

This is way too much to give up so I will probably pass but Ohio State is the play. That VT team was probably underrated heading into last week while OSU was over rated. Put them together and that is what you get.

NCAAF Score prediction:  Ohio State 45 – Kent State 9
