Syracuse has one win in their last seven games, so confidence is low, but they’ve had to play a lot of tough opponents this year.

Syracuse has been a mess and it all starts with the poor offense. The Orange are scoring 20.1 PPG (112th) while averaging 209.9 PYPG (84th) and 161.7 RYPG (67th). That isn’t going to get it done.

They’ve had QB issues all season and without a solid passing attack it’s hard to win many games. The best shot that the Orange have in this game is to run the football with Gulley and Ameen-Moore.

Gulley has been struggling and I’d like to see Ameen-Moore receive more of the workload. Duke has been terrible against the run this season (214.0 RYPG – 107th) and Syracuse should find success running.

Despite the struggles against the run, Duke is only allowing 19.3 PPG (13th). The Blue Devils have also been solid offensively. They average 35.8 PPG (28th), 212.3 RYPG (34th) and 209.8 PYPG (86th).

Duke uses a RB committee and it has been working, as they’ve been able to stay fresh. Shaun Wilson has been great. He’s leading the team in rushing yards (528) and has an incredible 9.6 YPC this season.

The Orange have been good against the run this season, as they only allow 130.6 RYPG (30th). If they’re able to shutdown the Blue Devils run game then they may be able to steal this game.

Anthony Boone is having a good season and he can get it done through the air or on the ground. Boone may need to utilize his arm more in this match-up, as that’s where the Syracuse defense struggles.

Syracuse ranks 57th against the pass (223.2 PYPG) and Jamison Crowder will be able to find open space on this secondary. Crowder leads Duke with 49 receptions for 636 receiving yards and 4 TD’s.

NCAAF Week 11 Betting Trends:

* Under is 7-2 in DUKE last 9 road games.
* DUKE are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall.
* Under is 8-3 in DUKE last 11 games overall.
* Under is 6-1-1 in SYR last 8 games overall.

4* Free NCAAF Picks: Duke Blue Devils vs. Syracuse Orange

I could make a case for Syracuse, as they’re at home, they have a good run defense and they should be able to establish their run game against a Duke front seven that has had problems stopping the run.

However, Syracuse has no chance through the air, so Duke can stack the box on defense. Syracuse has 6 passing TD’s compared to 11 INT’s this season. The best bet in this game is on the under 51 points.

Under 51 Points (-110)

Everyone is hammering Duke to cover ATS, but this line feels like a trap. I expect Syracuse to play a solid defensive game and have a chance to win this game at the end, but it’ll stay under the total.
