Free NCAAF Pick: Rice vs. Texas A&M Gambling Lines & Preview

Week 3 Odds: Owls vs Aggies

#7 Texas A&M (2-0) has been absolutely dominant through two weeks and now they get a home game against Rice (0-1). Bookmark Cappers Picks and come back for our free college football picks.

Unlike last week, the Aggies game has a spread and total released. Texas A&M is a –31.5 point favorite and just about every bet has been on them thus far, but we haven’t seen the line move up.

These two teams played last season and the Aggies won 52-31 in a game where Manziel only played in the 2H. Rice covered as +28 underdogs and the total (O/U 69) went sailing over with ease.

Kenny Hill and the Aggies beat up on Lamar (73-3) last week in blow out fashion. Kyle Allen also played in the game and he looked sharp. Hill has completed 70.9% of his passes for 794 yards and 7 TD’s.

The run game for the Aggies has also produced 8 TD’s and 394 yards on just 75 carries. This team loves to air it out and Sumlin has this team rolling right now. They’re looking like a strong playoff contender.

Rice lost their opening game against Notre Dame (48-17) in week and had last week off. Golson piled up 295 yards on just 14 completions against Rice, so Hill is likely going to put up monster numbers.

The Owls allowed 576 total yards against ND and the Aggies are much a quicker offense. The speed will kill Rice and they won’t be able to limit Texas A&M. I expect the Aggies to score 56 points.

One positive for Rice was that they were able to score 17 points on a tough ND defense. The Irish looked good on defense against Michigan and I expect Rice to be able to put up some points this week.

Driphus Jackson wasn’t accurate against ND, but he played well. He can beat defenses with his feet and he led the Owls with 61 rushing yards in week 1. He’ll be able to break some big plays this week.

I assume Hill is going to play the whole game this week and he has looked great. Hill will be able to carve up this Rice defense through the air. Rice will score 17-21 points, but the Aggies will cover the spread.

Free NCAAF Pick: Rice vs. Texas A&M

Historically the Aggies have done well against CUSA, as they’ve gone 8-1 ATS in their L9. Texas A&M is also known to run up scores and therefore they’re capable of covering these huge point spreads.

Rice plays teams hard and are 7-3 ATS in their L10 against teams with a winning record, but they’ve also gone 1-4 ATS in their L5 games against the SEC. Texas A&M will prove to be too much for Rice.

4* Free Play On Texas A&M –31.5 (-110)

I also like the over in this game, but feel stronger about the Aggies because I’m not sure how much Rice will actually be able to score. I like to put up 21+ points, but if they don’t this game could stay under.
