Colorado

In order they are @USC, @Oregon and then home to Stanford.  Even if this was a good team it would be hard to for them to run that gauntlet.

As it is they might be lucky to keep any of those contests within 30 points.  Where is Kordell Stewart when you really need him?

Kansas transfer QB Jordan Webb has done alright this year, although I wonder if he might have been smarter to join a team in the MAC where winning was a possibility after all he went through to get away from KU.

It is probably splitting hairs but the offense is the marginally better unit.

Colorado gives up an average of 40ppg which is twice their usual scoring output – it is an easy formula for losing.

Anytime you see a crooked number this high you should pause as it takes both hapless play and a quality opponent to make it work.  This is exactly what we have on Saturday.

Colorado football is not up to PAC 12 quality and the Trojans are a powder keg just looking to explode.

That is a lot of chalk but it is doable. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

USC

The USC Trojans are back…sort of.  The team everybody loves to hate (except me) is 5-1 with but their ATS record is just the opposite.  They are winning games but they are not crushing opponents the way many thought they would.

Mostly that is because the offense isn’t quite the machine many predicted, even with all the skill players returning from last year.  Things are out of sync which is surprising.

The overall numbers look alright but QB Matt Barkley has been off this season.

It is clear that Marqise Lee has become the primary target and it looks like Robert Woods is struggling with secondary status, as well as injuries.  The only good thing to come of it all is that the running game is improving.

Running back Silas Redd looks like he can top last year’s totals at Penn State if they keep feeding him the rock, while the shifty Curtis McNeal rips off nearly 7 yards a pop.

The makings are all there for sure.

This is a huge number and unlike last year when it seemed no number was too large for the top ranked teams you have to pause a little bit for this one.

First off the Trojans have only scored more than 41 points twice this year against Hawaii and at Syracuse.

Colorado is quite possibly worse than both of those team but with depth concerns of USC you have to be careful assuming they will pour it on late.

Spread Pick:  Colorado +41
