The two losses on the year are to Oregon and Stanford—two elite programs—and the Colorado Buffaloes will be a breath of fresh air compared to those two powerhouses.

Colorado

The Colorado Buffaloes may be 3-4 on the season, but they’re 0-4 when it comes to Pac-12 competition.

They’ve proven they can put points on the board against inferior teams (they averaged 40.7 points against Colorado State, Central Arkansas and Charleston Southern), but that hasn’t been the case against conference opponents.

They’re averaging just 16.5 points per outing against the Pac-12.

Defensively, the Buffaloes have been one of the worst teams in the country regardless of whom they’re playing. On the season, they’re giving up 37.1 points per contest, which is only good enough for 113th in the nation. UCLA will surely test them from the game’s opening possession.

The strategy against the Bruins has to be getting to Brett Hundley. The quarterback for UCLA threw two picks last week against Oregon, and if Colorado can force him into mistakes, it will stand a chance against the spread.

On offense, the only hope is to put points on the board through the air.

They’re 54th in the nation in passing yards per contest, but they’re an abysmal 101st in the rushing attack.

UCLA

In UCLA’s defense, it held its own against the Oregon Ducks in the first half of last week’s contest. It went into halftime tied at 14 apiece, and most around the country believed there was a good game in store for the second half. Unfortunately for the Bruins, a disastrous fourth quarter led to a 42-14 loss. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Luckily for UCLA, the Buffaloes are not the Ducks.

The Bruins don’t have to worry about a Heisman quarterback torching their defense, and they certainly don’t have to worry about one of the best secondaries in the country disrupting their offensive flow.

Look for Brett Hundley to get back to his usual, dominant self. Additionally, look for the offensive attack to find better balance. Against Oregon, the team rushed for 219 yards on the ground, while completing just 64 yards through the air.

Hundley never looked sharp with his passes, but we’ll see a different type of player behind center this time around.

The Bruins enter this matchup as big-time favorites, and rightfully so.

With the exception of Oregon and Stanford, UCLA has beaten its opponents by an average margin of 27.6 points per game this season.

That’s right on cue with their 27-point spread for Week 10, and that’s about what you should expect when this one comes to a close.

Prediction: UCLA 46 – Colorado 17
