The Cavaliers have won three straight in the series with the Hurricanes, which is tied all time at five games apiece.

Virginia (2-8) beat Miami 41-40 on a touchdown with six seconds left last season, and with another shocker could ruin the Hurricanes hopes of a BCS Bowl bid this year.

But its going to take a miracle for the Cavaliers, who are 108th in the country in scoring at 20.5 points per game, and rank 81st in both rushing (152.7 yards) and passing (212.6), to try and outgun Miami.

The Cavs’ offense has struggled mightily and sophomore quarterback David Watford has completed just 58 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

But you can’t fault Watford alone, as the he hasn’t received any support from the running game.

The Cav’s who have lost seven straight games and have been outscored 104-24 over the last two weeks, fell to North Carolina 45-14 last time out, as Watford was 14-for-30 for 129 yards with two interceptions before being replaced in the fourth quarter by Greyson Lambert who came on and threw a lone fourth-quarter touchdown to Keeon Johnson.

Meanwhile, Miami (7-3) will try to snap a three-game losing streak after they were eliminated from ACC title game contention when they allowed 358 rushing yards in a 48-30 loss to No. 24 Duke last week.

The Canes’ season has turned into a nightmare recenlty after they started the season 7-0 and were ranked seventh in the BCS standings before getting run over by No. 2 Florida State 41-14 on Nov. 2.

Since then, Miami’s biggest problem has been its defense, which has allowed an average of 44 points during its losing streak after allowing 17 in its first seven contests.

If they want to stay in the hunt, they will need to be more sharp mentally and keep the game close enough for the offense to do its job.

Matt’s Free Prediction

Virginia is a train wreck and while they have had two weeks to get ready for the Hurricanes, I don’t think it really matters in this matchup.

If Miami comes to play, which is should, it can beat the Cavs by the 20-point spread.

Miami 35, Virginia 13
