The Bulldogs (4-4)  arrive in College Station following a 34-16 loss to South Carolina. Quarterback Dak Prescott was chased by the Gamecocks pass rush all day long, throwing three interceptions and fumbling once.

He did rush for 78 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries however, but the defense could not contain South Carolina quarterback  Connor Shaw, who tied a career high by throwing for four touchdowns, despite South Carolina  converting just one of 11 third downs.

The Bulldogs had only turned the ball over six times all season entering Saturday, and had won three of their last four, averaging 447 yards per game.

The offense has been led by Prescott has rushed for 100 yards or more three times this year and has accounted for 17 touchdowns.

Mississippi State will need to tighten up their defense though if they want any shot at beating  the Aggies, and it will start with fine tuning its secondary that was torched by South Carolina, LSU and Auburn.

Meanwhile, Johnny Manziel has dazzled Aggies fans, once again, leading A&M in rushing and passing this season.

He has helped the Aggies to amass over 500 total yards in eight consecutive games, while putting up 40 or more points in 12 straight. Last year’s  Heisman Trophy recipient  ranks fifth in the nation with 2,867 passing yards to go along with 564 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns.

Defensively, the Aggies(7-2) are improving, but are still giving up  443 yards per game, ranking them 97th in the nation.

The focus for the Aggies defense will be on  Prescott this week, who is a dangerous runner.

Matt’s Free Prediction

Texas A&M is seeking to become the 17th school in FBS history with 700 wins., and with Manziel at the helm, its more than likely going to happen.

The sophomore quarterback is on the cusp of several of his own milestones as well. The needs four touchdown passes to match a school record of 30, 26 more rushing yards to become the second A&M quarterback with 2,000 in his career, and 133 passing yards to become the first Aggie to reach the 3,000-yard mark twice.

This weekend he get a little closer.
