Colorado State is having another typically poor season. They have lost 5 in a row but perhaps this team is not as bad as people think with back to back three point losses heading into the game on Saturday afternoon at TCU.

But before we go patting them on the back unjustly you should know this team has also lost to UNLV and UTEP this season.
The Rams are coming into this one pretty banged up with QB Pete Thomas questionable at the moment. Last week backup Garrett Gryson got into the game and it wasn’t pretty, and that was against a San Diego State team not known for defense. TCU may not be as sharp as in year’s past on D but Gary Patterson can certainly make it tough for a freshman signal caller. It is not like they can take the pressure off with the run either.
Colorado State and TCU have met only 8 times with the Rams winning just once, in their first meeting back in 1998. It has truly been the case of lack of offense (and great defense) by Colorado State. In the losses they have scored in double figures only twice with a high of 14 points. The only thing that CSU has going for it in this one is that TCU might have a letdown after their big win at Boise State last weekend.

It was an exciting finish that almost makes you wish they were sticking around in the Mountain West so they could have a few more regularly scheduled battles. Oh well…Memories.
Andy Dalton had a bad week in the NFL but his replacement Casey Pachall showed that the Horned Frogs are in good hands for the next few seasons. The sophomore is having a super season completing 68% of his passes with just 6 picks for the season. His favourite target is another sophomore receiver Josh Boyce. Look for this combination to be one of the better ones across the nation in the years to come.
Above I outlined how TCU has just owned Colorado State since joining the Mountain West. On both offense and defense they have dominated outrushing the Rams by more than 100 yards in each of the last seven games. In fact, three times, including last year, they have outgained CSU by more than 300 yards on the ground alone. TCU has great balance this year so even though they are not as stout defensively they can still put on another whooping.
