Ready to start betting on NCAA Football?

The 2014-15 NCAA football season saw the first-ever College Football Playoffs crown the Ohio State Buckeyes as the undisputed champions. They took down the favorited Alabama Crimson Tide to advance to the finals, where they dominated the Oregon Ducks and Heisman Trophy Winner, Marcus Mariota.

This season, the College Football Playoffs will look to name its second-ever champion, and quite frankly, those Buckeyes have a solid shot at taking home the hardware once again.

Below you’ll find this upcoming season’s full championship odds, courtesy of Bovada. But first, here’s a look at a handful of teams you should take note of, for better or for worse, and whether you should buy or sell their chances in 2015-16.

Ohio State (3/1)

Doubt the Buckeyes? Not a chance. This team returns a lot of talent from last year’s championship squad, including star running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Although Elliott will be a player to watch closely because of his late-season breakout, there’s no reason to believe he won’t carry that momentum forward. The biggest question is: Who will be the starting quarterback on Day 1 of the season?

The three-headed monster of Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones presents a “can’t miss” opportunity for OSU coaches, but the decision will still be a difficult one. The good news? “Can’t miss” translates to “can’t go wrong” regardless of who takes snaps throughout the year.

Verdict: Buy

TCU (10/1)

The TCU Horned Frogs were an elite team on both sides of the ball last season. Chances are, they’ll fall under the same characteristics this season. But there’s one catch.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

They’re not going to be tested leading up to a potential showing in the College Football Playoffs.

Entering the year, TCU doesn’t have a single ranked opponent on the docket. That’s not going to help when it comes to facing elite competition in the postseason. The Horned Frogs biggest shot at both notoriety and big-time success is Trevone Boykin. If the Heisman hopeful is as productive as we think he’ll be, that will help this group take some momentum into any contest it finds itself in next season.

Unfortunately, momentum isn’t nearly as impactful as actual preparation. TCU needs a tough opponent to get ready for an even tougher challenge. And it’s far from safe to say they’ll have that this season.

Verdict: Sell

USC (16/1/)

The USC Trojans haven’t been a powerhouse program for quite sometime. But if the Southern California institution has its way, that will change with the 2015-16 season.

USC looks to bring back 16 starters this year. Nine of those will come on defense, while Heisman hopeful Cody Kessler is back on offense.

The Trojans will have a bit of a cozy schedule to begin the year, but two opponents to look out for at the end are Oregon and UCLA. That said, the Ducks could very well go through an adjustment this season, and it’s possible we see them come back down to earth after the past few years of Marcus Mariota dominating the field.

Verdict: Buy

Oklahoma State Cowboys (66/1)

If you’re looking for a sleeper, here’s one team to keep an eye on.

The Cowboys weren’t great last season, as they barely scraped by with a 7-6 record. But they did carry some momentum toward the end of the year, as they took down Oklahoma and Washington in back-to-back games to close out the year.

This is a squad that won’t get much attention early in the year, but they have the luxury of hosting their toughest opponents. They’ll be a sleeper for a reason, but they’re a sleeper worth watching.
