Texas: 13-0 SU, 8-1 ATS
Arkansas: 7-7 SU, 2-5 ATS

The No. 2 Texas Longhorns will travel to Fayetteville to do battle against the Arkansas Razorbacks in a non-conference game at Bud Walton Arena on Tuesday.

Arkansas has played Texas 29 times in the last three decades wining 20, including a 67-61 victory in last years meeting on Jan 6.

The No. 2 Longhorns eeked out a 76-70 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday and along with Purdue, Kansas and Kentucky, are one of only four teams that remain undefeated thus far in the season. Dexter Pittman scored 18 points and Jordan Hamilton scored 17 in the win, but the team shot just 35 percent from the field and was out rebounded 47-37 against an opponent that should have been a blowout. Texas had been very impressive through the first the first 12 games of the season, winning by at least 11 points, including huge wins over North Carolina and Michigan State.

Big man center Dexter Pittman leads the nation in field goal percentage..

Meanwhile, Arkansas fell to No. 24 Alabama-Birmingham in a buzzer beating 73-72 loss on Saturday. UAB trailed 72-71 with two seconds left and called a timeout to set up the game-winning play.

The Hogs’ Marshawn Powell scored 22 points while Michael Washington contributed 18 and Rotnei Clarke 16 in the loss. Clark continues to lead the way for the Razorbacks on the perimeter. He is hitting 51 percent (51-of-100) from behind the arc and is averaging an SEC-best 19.0 ppg. Forward Michael Washington has been sidelined sidelined with back problems and there’s no question the Hogs are going to need him when SEC play begins at Mississippi State on Jan. 14.

Michael Sanchez is also is battling injuries, leaving them light in the frontcourt.

Texas needs to post up their big forwards instead of relying on a steady diet of 3-pointers, even though they have several bombers who can get hot from beyond the arc.

Arkansas needs to improve on its board work if it wants to win against Texas.
