Tennessee Volunteers vs. Kentucky Wildcats Free Gambling Prediction & CBB Preview

Volunteers vs Wildcats CBB Basketball Spread/Handicapping

The Volunteers were supposed to be a sleeper team in the SEC this season.  They had a good amount of talent returning and some strong teams from last year – like Kentucky and Vanderbilt – were going to make take some lumps this year.

Tennessee

Tennessee has too, losing their first two conference games.

They have played some teams tough but haven’t gotten enough wins to expect much at this point going forward.

Since forward Jarnell Stokes stepped onto campus halfway through last season he has been the man.  He is a beast at 270 pounds yet nimble around the rim, the problem is his production fluctuates too greatly.

For the Vols to have a chance he is going to have to exceed his season highs of 24 and 12 because the surrounding talent is good but not great.

He and forward Kenny Hall are going to have a hard time against those UK bigs.

This is their second road game in the SEC and they covered at Alabama last week.  Overall they are 2-1 ATS this season away from Knoxville though they haven’t won a roadie yet.  That is a streak that is likely to continue but fading the Wildcats seems to be a solid strategy this season.

This might be another spot.

Kentucky

The one thing you can say about this year’s Wildcats team is that they are keeping it interesting.  Last year they were fantastic but this year they are more fiasco.  You just never know what you are going to get.  They barely escaped at Vandy and were embarrassed at home by Texas A&M.

These guys and North Carolina are probably the most difficult to gauge from game to game. [ad-6571516]

We shouldn’t be surprised given how young this team is.

The talent is undoubtedly there and now that point Ryan Harrow is back in the fold the consistency should improve.  At the risk of being harsh this team just doesn’t seem to understand that basketball is a team game.

They have a bunch of supreme athletes, except forward Kyle Wiltjer, but it hasn’t been enough.  Love the look of Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress but wanting more.

Given the outrage over their play you would think the Wildcats ATS record would be worse than 5-7.

The one scenario where they seem to play strongest is when they are supposed to cream opponents – they are 4-1 ATS when favoured by 20 or more points.

That isn’t the case here and it has to make you nervous.
