The Ohio State Buckeyes came out on top in a big road battle in Illinois last Saturday, but now they must come home and play the second place team in the Big Ten standings. The Purdue Boilermakers have two stars and they are capable of beating anyone in the country when they play their best basketball. The Buckeyes are unbeaten on the year, but this will be one of their toughest battles yet. 
JaJuan Johnson is one of the nation’s best players, and I think he’ll give Ohio State trouble on Tuesday night. Johnson will likely match up with Sullinger, and that should be a great battle. Johnson is a very good shooter and he has solid low-post moves as well. E’Twaun Moore is a prolific scorer who can create his own shot just about whenever he wants. The problem for Purdue has been finding offense from anyone other than Johnson or Moore. The Boilermakers play terrific defense, which keeps them in just about every game.
Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger is a fabulous freshman. Sullinger had 27 points and 16 boards in the Buckeyes big win over Illinois on Saturday. He is averaging 17.8 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game. The Buckeyes get plenty of production from multiple players, which is one of their biggest strengths. David Lighty is a terrific senior leader, Jon Diebler is a great shooter, and William Buford is great at getting his own shot. Aaron Craft wasn’t too highly touted in high school, but he is a great freshman point guard for the Buckeyes.

I think Ohio State is definitely one of the best teams in the country, but eight points is a little too much. Purdue beat the Buckeyes in Columbus last year, and their solid defense should keep this one close.
