The Virginia Tech Hokies square off against the Maryland Terrapins in a showdown between two of the better teams this season in the ACC. All the action from the Comcast Center in College Park is set to start at 9 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

Virginia Tech’s recent six-game winning streak was snapped with a 64-61 loss to North Carolina last Thursday as a 5 ½-point road underdog. The Hokies bounced back by hammering Wake Forest 94-65 as a 19-point home favorite on Monday Night. They are currently 11-5 straight-up overall (6-6-1 against the spread) and 2-2 SU in the ACC.

Malcolm Delaney remains the primary scoring threat for Tech with an average of 18.6 points per game, while shooting 44 percent from the field and 43.3 percent from three-point range. The Hokies, as a team are averaging 72 points a game and shooting 47.1 percent from the floor.

Its last time out, Maryland was able to give No.7 Villanova a pretty good run for its money before falling to the Wildcats 74-66 as a five-point road underdog. The loss dropped the Terrapins to 11-6 SU and 6-6 ATS. They remain 1-2 SU in the conference heading into this game.

Jordan Williams is the big man for Maryland with an average of 18.1 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. Cliff Tucker is second on the team in scoring with 11.4 points a game. The Terps are shooting 48.2 percent from the field but just 62.8 percent from the free-throw line. They are averaging 78 points and ranked sixth in the nation in rebounds with an average of 42 per game.

Maryland has won its last two games against the Hokies both SU and ATS and remains a solid pick to make it three in a row.

The Pick: Maryland -4
