* WSU has played eight of its last eleven games OVER the total
* WSU has covered five of its last 15 road games
* WSU has lost 11 of its last 15 road games SU
* WSU has played four of its last six road games
* WASH has won seven of its last eight games SU

* WASH has played six of its last nine games OVER the total
* WASH has won six of its last seven home games SU

Well, after two straight losses – one of them heart-breaking and the other emasculating – we’re not surprised that Washington took out its frustrations against Seattle on Tuesday, scoring a 123-76 blowout over the cross-town team. Of course, that doesn’t cure all ills, as the Huskies found themselves totally outplayed in their visit to USC, allowing the Trojans to shoot 58% from the field and stumbling over each other to the tune of a 37% shooting night. All this happened after U-Dub lost at the buzzer to UCLA and coach Lorenzo Romar mentioned that his team had to “grow up.” You don’t grow up by stomping Seattle.

Quincy Pondexter came up lame in the USC game, making just one of his ten field goal attempts after rambling for 75 points in the three previous games. Against Seattle he was 9-for-11 and finished with 27 points. Does that mean he’s on form again?

I don’t know about that, but what I do know is that Washington, which is 5-14 ATS in the NCAA college basketball odds, is in serious danger of blowing its NCAA tournament chances if it doesn’t shape up pretty soon.

These are the head-to-head NCAA basketball betting trends as they apply to this game:

* WSU has covered six of the last nine meetings
* WSU has won seven of the last nine meetings SU
* Five of the last seven meetings have gone UNDER the total
* WSU has covered four of the last six meetings as the road team
* WASH has won eleven of the last 14 meetings SU as the home team
* Four of the last five meetings in Seattle have gone UNDER the total
* WASH has had the shooting edge in three of the last four meetings
* WASH has had the rebounding edge in each of the last seven meetings

Washington State had to bid adieu to coach Tony Bennett, who went off to Virginia. In stepped Ken Bone, who has had his Cougars playing at a faster pace and with a little more power. Defensively, however, they’re probably not as potent, as they are allowing 43% shooting and 71 points a game, and that might be a reason they are 7-10-1 in the NCAA college basketball odds. As we know, though, points allowed is often a reflection of pace anyway.

Leading the charge for Wazzu is Klay Thompson, who has established himself as a legitimate Pac-10 player of the year candidate while averaging 22.3 points and five rebounds. If he can hit his shots from beyond the arc (and he throws up 6.5 threes a game) he can be very effective against a Washington defense that has often been found lacking.

Guard Reggie Moore is another guy the Huskies have to be very much aware of. The freshman is WSU’s second leading scorer, with four efforts of 20 points or more in the last six games, and three of those have come on the road, against the likes of USC, UCLA and Arizona.

Let’s not forget two things about Washington’s mighty-mite guard, Isaiah Thomas; he is just 5’8″, which will give him problems getting out on the perimeter against people like Thompson and Moore, and he is a poor shooter (less than 40% from the field, and 30% from three-point range).

This is double revenge for the Cougars, who were swept against U-Dub last year after winning seven straight meetings. We’re going with the Cougars with the points on the road in the BetUS NCAA college basketball odds.
