Mt. Saint Mary’s Mountaineers vs. Robert Morris Colonials Gambling & NCAA Handicapping Prediction

MSM vs Robert Morris CBB Picks

The Mountaineers are looking to ruin the season for league champ Robert Morris. MSM finished tied for 4th in the league but because they were not very strong in the non-conference part of their schedule they do not even have a winning record at the moment. [ad-4468020]

ATS Matchup Insight | CP Insider Gambling Preview

Mt. Saint Mary’s

They have lost twice to the Colonials this season – both by 8 points. If there were to win the league tournament they would almost certainly be a First Four selection.

The Mountaineers are a high scoring team led by a productive backcourt. They are certainly not household names but Rashad Whack and Julian Norfleet both average 17ppg and are capable shooters. Norfleet is the point guard but in this offense he can not afford to be only a distributor. Whack scored 27 and 22 points in the two regular season games against RMU and he will need to do about the same for MSMU to have a chance.

For both of these team’s it is hard to get a read on how they do against the spread because very few games involving NEC teams are even lined. The Mountaineers are 202 ATS this season including 1-1 during the NEC Tourney. If it helps at all they are 2-1 ATS on the road this season with a cover at Penn State.

Robert Morris

The Colonials made some noise at the end of last season when they beat Kentucky. They followed that up with a NEC regular season championship but their best win in the non-conference was against Duquesne – hardly impressive. Even though they were the top seed they have played two close games to make it to the finals, failing to cover as 11 point favourites in both.

Robert Morris also has a very productive backcourt. Karvel Anderson leads the team at 19ppg with Lucky Jones chipping in 13ppg while also leading the team in rebounding from the backcourt at close to 7. The Colonials do not have a lot of size with no players on the roster taller than 6’9” or weighing more than 220 pounds. This game should have a really nice pace to it.

The Colonials have had just 6 lined games this season and the results have not been good. They are just 1-5 ATS in those contests. They are going to be super amped up to get the victory and should cover in in the Championship game which is essentially a mismatch.

Spread Pick: Robert Morris -5.5
O/U Pick: N/A
Score Prediction: Robert Morris 76 – Mount St. Mary’s 66
