Tourney Bracket Picks – 2013 March Madness Projections
March Madness is here baby and everyone is filling out there brackets to see if Lady Luck is on their side. It is never easy to pick the 4 region winners of the NCAA Tournament, but I will give you my take on who I think will be heading to the Final 4.
East Region
The East Region is not the strongest one and even though Indiana lost 3 of their last 4 games and they lost in the semis of the Big 10 tournament they still snagged the #1 seed. They do not have a tough side of the bracket, as their biggest test may come in the Sweet 16 where they may face Syracuse.
With Miami as the 2nd seed and Marquette as the 3rd seed I still have to go with the Hoosiers.

Indiana is a high scoring team led by a couple of Player of the Year candidates in Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo and these 2 give the Hoosiers a great inside/outside game.
I think their toughest game in the region will be in the Sweet 16 against Syracuse, but Indiana will prevail and it helps that there are no legit dark horses in the region.
Midwest Region
The Midwest Region may be the toughest one, but the South is stacked as well. To seed Louisville comes into the Big Dance en fuego winning their last 10 games including winning the Big East conference tournament.
The Cardinals have the top seed, but I have to go with the #2 seed Duke, who lost in the first round last season as the #2 seed.
Michigan State and dark horse St. Louis are the 3rd and 4th seed and I think MSU will give Duke a test in the Sweet 16, but I see the Blue Devils beating the Cardinals in the Elite 8 even though many “experts” are picking Louisville to win the whole tournament. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
South Region
The South is a tough region with Kansas, Georgetown, Florida, and Michigan being the top 4 seeds. Top seed Kansas may face VCU in the 3rd round and a couple years back VCU made a surprise run to the Final 4 and beat Kansas in the process.
I think the top 4 seeds will make the Sweet 16, but even though all the teams are solid, especially Michigan with the best backcourt in the nation, I am going with Kansas to make the Final 4 with their solid all-around team.
West Region
Gonzaga snagged the #1 seed in the West, but they did not have any great wins on the season and I do not think they are THE team to beat in the conference.
Ohio State is the #2 seed and they won the Big 10 conference tournament, but I am going out on a limn and taking 3rd seed New Mexico to win the West.
New Mexico won the Mountain West Conference this season and also won the conference tournament. Sure, the MWC is not one of the big conference, but 4 teams from the conference made it to the Big Dance.
The Lobos have a solid defensive team, a great backcourt, and have 7′ C Alex Kirk, who is averaging nearly 8 boards per game.
I think New Mexico will face Ohio State in the Elite 8 and narrowly beat them advancing to the Final 4.
