Anthony Grant has disciplined several players throughout the year, and the team has been inconsistent. Still, they appear to be in position to get an NCAA Tournament bid.

Florida is the four seed in the SEC tournament, and the Gators are a dangerous opponent.

The Crimson Tide didn’t get a bye in this year’s tournament, which means they’ll have a tough road ahead of them.

First they have to find a way to beat the mighty Florida Gators, who beat them 61-52 in Tuscaloosa last month. Tony Mitchell is suspended for the season, but JaMychal Green is back in the lineup.

Green averages 13.7 points and 7.3 boards per game. He is definitely the team’s best all-around player when he works hard. Trevor Releford averages 11.9 points per game, and he does a little bit of everything for this team. No one else averages more than 7 points per game. Alabama must play great defense if it wants to beat this Florida team. Alabama allows just 57.9 points per game. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Florida had a terrific regular season, but they didn’t finish strong at all. The Gators lost their last three regular season games. The Gators need to get back in a rhythm before the NCAA Tournament kicks off. Florida’s backcourt is about as deep as any team in the nation. Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker are the veterans in the backcourt.

Boynton is the team’s best outside shooter 43.4%. Walker leads the team in assists with 147. Bradley Beal is just a freshman, but he is already the most dynamic player on this team.

Beal averages 14.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He is great at getting to the rim, and he is athletic as you will find. The frontcourt has a star in Patric Young, but there isn’t nearly as much depth there.

Defensively, Florida has struggled to guard three-point shooters all year.

Alabama will likely keep this one closer than many expect with their defense, but I think Florida’s offensive weapons will win out in the end.

Prediction: Florida 67 Alabama 62
