NCAAB: Wildcats vs Bulldogs Predictions

College basketball betting sees the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the Georgia Bulldogs on Tuesday March 3 at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. Cappers Picks provides complimentary NCAAB handicapping picks all season long.

This is probably the last best chance for Kentucky to fall during the regular season. That still does not make it likely though.

Kentucky

The Wildcats are looking to make history and there is not much standing in their way at this point.

Sometimes they don’t dominate like they should but in the end they have always won. Georgia is one of those teams who pushed them harder than expected and that was without their top player. Kentucky has to be focused on the task at hand or else they might finally fall. Sure it might be the best thing for them but that won’t help you if you are looking to ride the expected champs.

This Kentucky teams is loaded with talent, so much so that you never know who is going to be the lead dog in any given game. The last couple of games it has been Trey Lyles who has been the star with back to back 18 point games. Kentucky’s big guys are so skilled and there are so many of them that they are really tough to handle.

Georgia might hold Lyles down and still get killed in the paint in this one.

Georgia

You can have a pretty good debate on who is the second best team in the SEC. It is probably Arkansas but Georgia is definitely in the mix. If they can get this win I think it will guarantee them a spot in the Tournament as I am sure the selection committee would want the one team that beat mighty Kentucky during the season in the field. A loss will mean the Dawgs still have some work to do. I give them a shot though they are better than you probably realize. This teams works hard and you have to if you want to hang with the Wildcats.

In the previous loss to Kentucky Georgia was without their leading scorer Marcus Thornton. He may only average 12ppg but you are definitely not going up upset the Cats without all of your weapons at your disposal. Thornton is also the Dawg’s best inside player even though by Kentucky standards he would be considered small. Kenny Gaines and Charles Mann make one of the more experienced and effective backcourts in the SEC.

They are going to have to play very well for Georgia too.

NCAAB Betting Trends

  • Over is 8-2 in UK last 10 overall.
  • Over is 8-2 in UK last 10 vs. Southeastern.
  • UGA are 15-6-2 ATS in their last 23 games overall.
  • Under is 22-10 in UGA last 32 Tue. games.
  • Under is 45-22-1 in UGA last 68 home games.

NCAAB Betting Prediction:  Georgia +10

I think Georgia will rise to the occasion here. The home crowd will help but mostly they will play a smart game that will enable them to keep touch with UK.

NCAAB Score Prediction:  Kentucky 67 – Georgia 61

If Kentucky fails at the line this one could be really close.
