Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss Odds
Vanderbilt +4 (-110)
Mississippi -4 (-110)
Over/Under 154

The #19 Vanderbilt Commodores invade Tad Smith Coliseum to take on the Rebels from Ole Miss in a classic SEC showdown. Vandy is just 1 ½ games behind Kentucky in the East standings with one more shot at the Wildcats on Saturday night, while Ole Miss is looking to help their post season position with a quality win.

Vanderbilt comes into this game on a roll having won 13 of their last 15 games. This stretch has included impressive wins over Florida, Mississippi State and Tennessee twice. Their two losses were to #2 Kentucky and Georgia. In their second game against the Volunteers, the outcome was never in doubt as they jumped out to a 44-27 lead in the first half and never looked back. Sophomore G Jeffery Taylor scored a career high 26 points including 16 in the first half to lead the way. Against LSU, they actually trailed by one at the half and the game was tied at 59 with four minutes left. They still found a way to pull out a 77-69 win despite having two starters out of the lineup. Sophomore F Lance Goulbourne came off the bench to score a career high 18 points to help pick up the slack. The team is led by Senior G Jermaine Beal who is averaging 14.8 points and Taylor who is averaging 13.9 points per game. Junior C A.J. Ogilvy is averaging 13.3 points and 6 rebounds per game.

Mississippi is an impressive 17-7 overall, but they are only 5-5 in conference play. They have lost three out their last four, dropping games to Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi State. Their last win was against Alabama at home. In the 74-67 victory, they trailed by 23 points early in the second half but battled back to pull out the win. Junior G Chris Warren scored 21 points and Sophomore F Terrence Henry added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Rebels in the dramatic come from behind win. Through 24 games Warren is the leading scorer, averaging 16.2 points per game. Sophomore G Terrico White is averaging 14.8 points and Sophomore F Murphy Holloway is averaging 9.6 points and 6.8 rebounds.

Ole Miss must find a way to contain Beal and Taylor try and keep this one close as they cannot afford to fall behind to the Commodores early, as they have in their last two losses. Vanderbilt has played tough on the road this year and should be able to at the very least keep this one within four points. That being said, I expect them to win this one outright.

This is going to be a good battle, but I have to go with Vandy pulling one out on the road here.
