NCAA Basketball Betting – Buckeyes vs Hoosiers

No. 2 Ohio State opened Big 10 play with big victory of Northwestern, and will now set their sights on adding to the Hoosiers misery after they were upset by Michigan State on Wednesday.

Date/Time: 6:00 PM ET, Saturday, December 31, 2011
Venue: Assembly Hall in Bloomington, IN.
Broadcast: ESPN
Spread: OFF
Over/Under: OFF

William Buford rolled up 28 points, nine rebounds and four assists as the Buckeyes waxed the visiting Wildcats 87-54, on Wednesday.

Jared Sullinger added 17 points and 14 rebounds and Deshaun Thomas, who has 13 straight double-digit point games scored 16 points for the Buckeyes (13-1), who are looking for their third straight conference championship.

Ohio State was able to exploit Northwestern in rebounding with their bigs down low and tormented the Northwestern defense with crisp accurate dishes.

Ohio State used its big advantage on the boards to win the possession battle with 49 rebounds.

Now they will look to Sullinger, who has led the team in rebounding in 11 out of 14 games this season, to keep help them extend their win streak to six when they lock horns with the Hoosiers. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

After ripping off 12 straight wins, Indiana State ran into a roadblock on earlier this week-Michigan State.

The Spartans surprised the Hoosiers, and after having squandered an early 17-point lead, trailed 54-45 with 11:07 left. MSU then found its mojo and scoring 20 unanswered points over the next 6:16 to seize the upper hand and send Indiana to its 16th straight Big Ten road loss, 80-65.

Indiana found itself dominated in shooting, free throw shooting and three[pointers.

Indiana’s Jordan Hulls, who came in as one of the nation’s top 3-point shooters, missed all four of his attempts from behind the arc, where the Hoosiers were a miserable 2-for-10 as a team in the second half.

Something they are going to have to change if they are to match up with a much bigger Ohio State squad.

Free Pick: Ohio State — I thought Hulls made a number of poor decisions directing the Hoosiers offense against Michigan State, and that can’t happen they want to beat Ohio State. As for the shooting, well it’s got to improve too.
