A pair of top 10 teams, although not in the same poll, will do battle on Wednesday night as the Aggies visit the Erwin Center to take on Big 12 rival the Texas Longhorns.
The rivalry has grown into a full-blown hostility with neither team being able to gain an advantage over its opponent. The Longhorns has won eight straight at the Erwin Center, the Aggies six in a row at Reed Arena in College Station. They have played once on a neutral court during that time, the Longhorns winning 74-70 at the Big 12 tournament in Dallas.
Texas will look to use that home court advantage to push its current win streak to three, while registering its eighth win in its last nine, climbing into the top 10 for the first time since early February 2010. The Longhorns were No. 1 in January 2010, eventually slipped out of the top 25, and lost to Wake Forest in the first round of the NCAA tournament. 
The Horns beat back Oklahoma in its last outing with a strong game in three pointers setting a season-high with Jordan Hamilton put up the most points for the Longhorns with 17 points on 50 percent from the floor, including 15 points from behind the 3-point line. Tristan Thompson was a factor with a game-leading eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Aggies escaped a loss to Missouri, 91-89, in overtime, pushing their win streak to 13 straight games and are 16-1, their best start in 91 years, and are No. 11 in the AP poll.
Khris Middleton scored 28 points on 56 percent shooting from the floor while B.J. Holmes contributed six big assists.
The Aggies last made the top 10 in November 2007, but struggled to make the NCAA tournament as a No. 9 seed, losing to UCLA in the second round.
The Aggies are hot from just about everywhere on the floor and I expect that to continue as they edge out the Horns on the road.
