While Super Bowl betting players are getting ready for the big game that will take place on Sunday, there will be a heavyweight tilt in the Big East in Tuesday’s college hoops action as Syracuse heads to Connecticut looking to snap a four-game losing streak that will see them fall down the top 25, and could see them fall out of the rankings altogether.

After a 22-point loss at home to Seton Hall, the Orangemen (18-4, 5-4) at least showed some heart in a 76-70 loss at Marquette. Kris Joseph led the way with 18 points, while Scoop Jardine had 13 points and 13 assists for the Orangemen, who shot 57.1% from the field, but they couldn’t stop the Golden Eagles in a porous defensive first half. NFL betting players will tell you that it doesn’t matter how many points you can score, it’s all about stopping the other team, and Syracuse’s 2-3 zone hasn’t been able to do that lately. Also, the Orangemen were just 8-of-14 from the foul line, while the Huskies were 24-of-33.

The Huskies came up just short in a 79-78 double-overtime loss to Louisville at home, shooting a brutal 37.7% from the field. Shabazz Napier notched a game-high 23 points off the bench, while Kemba Walker was next with 21 points for the Huskies, who hit just eight of their 30 long-range attempts, and they wasted advantages on the glass, at the foul line and turnovers. However, the Cardinals shot 48.4% from the field, and possibly more than in any other season, this game proved that any team in the Big East can win on any given night.

Betting services should favor the Huskies at home, where they are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four against the Orangemen. UConn are going to have to move the ball around against a zone that has been struggling, and they must also utilize Alex Oriakhi as the Orangemen are young on the inside. The Huskies will need more than Walker to score, and they’ve gotten it in the past couple of games with Jeremy Lamb and Napier, but these are freshmen that haven’t seen the Syracuse zone before, so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle that. The Orangemen are a better team than this recent slide as shown, and they’re going to need their experienced guys, Joseph, Jardine and Rick Jackson, to put the team on their back. The problem is they’re playing against a UConn team that is good at home, and won’t be happy about having their perfect home record snapped by Louisville. This will be a close one, but you should take the Huskies at home in your online sports betting picks on Tuesday.
