When it comes to rivalries, NCAA basketball betting players may not think of Princeton-Yale right off the top of their heads because it’s in the Ivy League, but trust us, these schools don’t like each other whether it’s in sports or academics.

The two clash in New Haven on Friday night as Yale tries to hand Princeton their first conference loss.

The Tigers (19-4, 7-0) are in the midst of a four-game stint on the road, and a 57-55 victory at Cornell was their second away from home and eighth win in a row. Kareem Maddox came off the bench to score 23 points, and he hit a big jumper with 10 seconds left to give the Tigers the final lead of the game. Princeton held the Big Red to 39.2% from the field and outrebounded them by 10 boards, but they were sloppy with 18 turnovers compared to nine for Cornell.

Some in New Jersey may be busy paying attention to the NHL trade deadline and the Devils, but the Tigers could be on their way to their first NCAA Tournament since 2004.

The Bulldogs (12-10, 5-3) kept their slim regular-season title hopes alive with a 69-60 win at Dartmouth, and Greg Mangano had a huge game in 30 points and 11 boards, while Reggie Willhite added 13 points for the Bulldogs. It was a poor shooting game for both teams as the Bulldogs shot 38.6%, while the Big Green shot 39.3%, but Yale won this game at the foul line by going 21-of-27, while Dartmouth was 7-of-9. Yale also forced 15 turnovers, while they had just 10 themselves and the Bulldogs have now won three of their last four games.

We’re willing to bet 5dimes that this could be the most intense game of the season between these two bitter rivals, and the Bulldogs should be favored at home, where they have won four in a row and are beginning a four-game homestand. Yale is 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five games at home against Princeton, who are 4-2 ATS away and they’re a tough underdog with a 4-1 ATS mark.

Yale is 2-1 ATS at home, and they’re 3-1 as an ATS favorite, and they need this win badly to stay in the Ivy League hunt.

The Bulldogs lost by four points at Princeton on January 29th, and we’re betting on a better game from Mangano, who had just 11 points. Yale’s main concern is slowing down Maddox, who is far better than anyone that the Bulldogs can bring off the pine.

Trends:
Under is 13-3 in PRINC last 16 Fri. games.
Under is 25-8 in PRINC last 33 vs. Ivy League.
PRINC are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games.
YALE are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Fri. games.

Pick: But this is the beginning of a crucial stretch for both teams, and we’re going to go with Yale in a close online sports betting matchup.
