Some NCAA basketball betting players counted out North Carolina after a sluggish start to the season, but the Tar Heels are now only a game and a half behind rival Duke in the ACC standings as they prepare to host Boston College, who need a signature win to boost their NCAA Tournament resume as they sit on the bubble.

The Eagles (16-9, 6-5) got a career-best 31 points from Reggie Jackson in a 76-72 win at home over Maryland, and the guard was incredibly efficient, shooting 12-of-16 from the field while adding eight boards. Carey Raji came off the bench with 12 points and seven boards for the Eagles, who hit 10 of their 26 three-point attempts to get a much-needed victory. NHL betting players know that in a crucial game, you need your best player to step up and Jackson definitely did for the Eagles after a two-game slump.

The problem is, they’ll need an even bigger game in Chapel Hill from not only Jackson, but the rest of the Eagles.

The No.19 Tar Heels (19-6, 9-2) have now won seven of their last eight after a 78-64 win at home over Wake Forest, opening up a 13-point lead by halftime before coasting to the victory.

The inside duo of Tyler Zeller and John Henson combined for 32 points and 22 boards, while Harrison Barnes added 17 points for the Tar Heels, who overcame a 36.6% shooting night from the floor with a 46-30 edge on the glass, and they went 21-of-28 from the foul line while the Demon Deacons were 10-of-10.

This is now a team to be reckoned with as freshman Kendall Marshall runs the show, Barnes is starting to show glimpses of his immense talent, while Henson and Zeller have made North Carolina the top team in the nation in rebounds per game.

We would be willing to bet 5dimes that the Tar Heels will be favored in this game, despite a 2-3 SU and ATS mark against the Eagles in their last five meetings at Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels rolled to a 106-74 romp at Boston College on February 1st in which Barnes dropped 26 points on the Eagles, and even though Boston College would love to avenge that loss, it’s not likely to happen on Saturday.

The Tar Heels are clicking on all cylinders and the Eagles definitely don’t have the size to match up with North Carolina in the paint. The Tar Heels have also been a better team with Marshall solely running the show instead of sharing time with Larry Drew II, who had nine assists in the first meeting.

NCAAB Gambling Trends:

NOCAR are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Under is 22-7 in NOCAR last 29 vs. Atlantic Coast.
Over is 6-2-1 in NOCAR last 9 home games.

This could be a rout like the first matchup, so take the Tar Heels in your sports betting book.
