ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

Golden State’s record isn’t all that impressive, but the team didn’t get any help from the schedule makers with 11 road games versus only seven home games to date. The team is 5-2 in at home. The Warriors most recent win came on the road though in a 115-113 win over the Kings in Sacramento.

Stephen Curry went off in that game, knocking down 14 of 24 shots for 36 points, adding 10 assists and three steals. Klay Thompson also brought his A-game, completing 10 of 19 shots for 28 points. The duo was dynamite from beyond the arc. Curry knocked down 5 of 8 three pointers, while Thompson hit on 8 of 11.

Center Andrew Bogut also put together his usual solid line with good, sound defensive play. He racked up 12 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals. As a team, the Warriors hit on 51.2 percent of their shots, including a whopping 60 percent of threes with 15 makes.

The team had a tough time defending Kings big DeMarcus Cousins, allowing him to score 24 points on 10 of 13 shooting. They also had trouble defending a couple small guys off the bench as Marcus Thornton and Isaiah Thomas scored 21 and 19 points respectively.

The Raptors didn’t fare so well in their last game, falling to Denver, 112-98. The team went with an interesting strategy in that one, shortening their bench and swapping Tyler Hansbrough into the starting lineup in Amir Johnson’s spot. Hansbrough didn’t play all that well in 34 minutes, coming up with only seven points and five rebounds.

Rudy Gay led the team in scoring with 23 points, adding nine rebounds, while center Jonas Valanciunas chipped in 18 and 11. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40.2 percent from the field, although they did hit on 36.4 percent of their shots from long range.

The team had no answer for Nate Robinson on the defensive end, allowing him to score 23 points and hit on 5 of 8 shots from three. As a team, the Nuggets shot 50.6 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from three.

Toronto has played solid defense this season under the guidance of head coach Dwayne Casey, but the team just doesn’t have the horses to slow down a red hot Golden State team.

Toronto should be able to get their points at well with Gay and DeRozan posing a tough matchup for Golden State.

The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these teams in Oakland.
