JAZZ vs. SUNS

Time: Thursday 10:30 ET
Venue: US Airways Center, Phoenix
Spread: Suns -1
Over/Under: 213

Team records:
Utah: 38-22 SU, 36-21-3 ATS
Phoenix: 39-24 SU, 37-25-1 ATS

Last Game Out: Carlos Boozer led the way for the Jazz with 20 points, six boards, and four steals in the Jazz’s 108-104 loss to the Clippers, The Suns took over in the second half and cruised to a 127-101 victory over the Clippers.

Jerry Sloan must think it’s Groundhog Day. Sloan is still smarting from last season’s 2-7 finish that knocked the Jazz into the No. 8 playoff spot and predictable ouster by the Lakers in the first round.

He sees some of the same things happening this season. After ripping through the league (13 of 14 and 17 of 19), the Jazz have now dropped 3 of 5 (Kings, Clippers, Hawks).

Of particular concern is a wrist injury to PG Deron Williams that has contributed to shooting problems.

Williams’s matchup with Steve Nash should be interesting as both he and Nash are at less than 100 percent.

THURSDAY NIGHT BEST NBA PARLAY BET:

This is a nasty matchup for the Heat, home or road. Jermaine O’Neal can go into a shell when things go bad, and the Heat’s front line can’t come close to matching the Lakers’. Bryant is well-rested, having played only 30 minutes in a rout of Indiana on Tuesday. If you play the totals, 188.5 looks about a few 3-pointers shy for two teams that come into this game rested. The Suns look like they’re getting their second wind after a mid-season sag, and they’ve covered the number 7 straight times. As they say, never bet on a streak to end.
