ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

The Pacers have been one of the powers of the Eastern Conference throughout the season and have won nine of their last 11 games entering Tuesday night, while the Kings have been streaking in the right direction, winning three in a row behind an offense that has found its rhythm.

The Kings have really found their touch around the rim, scoring 100 or more points in 12 consecutive games and 18 of their last 19. In winning their last three games, the Kings have scored an average of 116.7 points per game. Their most recent win came in a 124-80 blowout of Cleveland on Sunday.

Point guard Isaiah Thomas led the team in scoring with 26 points on 7 of 15 shooting, adding six assists, four rebounds, and two steals. His line wasn’t the only impressive one of the night for the Kings.

Small forward Rudy Gay has an uncharacteristically efficient scoring game, putting in 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Center DeMarcus Cousins added 16 points and 11 boards, and while power forward Jason Thompson didn’t have the scoring touch his teammates had, he did add 16 rebounds, six of which came at the offensive end. As a team, the Kings shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down 15 triples.

The Kings likely won’t enjoy that kind of success against a stingy Pacers defense that has held opponents to 40.9 percent shooting from the floor and 87.9 points per game, both the best marks in the NBA. That defense was out in full force in the team’s last game, a 93-66 rout of the Wizards.

Power forward David West was the only scorer for either side to hit the 20-point mark, adding eight boards, while small forward Paul Georga had just eight points, but chipped in 14 rebounds and six assists with two steals. At the other end of the court, Indiana limited Washington to a season-low 32.1 percent shooting from the floor.

As hot as the Kings have been, most of their recent wins have come at home. Now they’ll take to the road where they are 4-9 to take on Kings they’ll face a tough test against a Pacers club that has gone 18-1 at home this season. While the Kings have been able to score quite a few points lately, they’ve also stepped up their game at the defensive end of the court, limiting opponents to 94.0 points per game and 38.7 percent shooting in their last three games.

The under is 10-1 in the Pacers’ last 11 games overall.

The play: Under 194
