Friday is a busy night on NBA odds, with 12 games in action. The Miami Heat will play a tune-up game against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Miami (54-24, 36-41-1 ATS) has been much better since a five-game losing streak at the beginning of March, going 11-3 in its past 14 games. The Heat just had a three-game winning streak grind to a halt, though, as they lost 90-85 to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. That loss also ended a three-game winning streak against the spread.

That loss halted an impressive offensive run. The Heat are averaging 115.6 points in their past five victories, though they’ve managed just 90.0 points in their past two losses. It’s also worth noting that Miami hasn’t faced a playoff in nine games, when they beat the Atlanta hawks 106-85.

Miami was forced to play Milwaukee without Dwyane Wade. The star guard is suffering a thigh bruise and, with the playoffs so close, the club will be in no rush to get him back. That could mean trouble down the stretch, as Miami just doesn’t have enough depth to make up for his absence. Only LeBron James and Chris Bosh scored in double figures against the Bucks. Charlotte (32-46, 37-39-2 ATS) is closing out the season with a whimper. After winning four consecutive games in late March, the Bobcats have suffered through an 0-4 run. They lost 111-102 to Orlando on Wednesday and, by failing to cover, dropped to 0-3 in their past three games against the spread.

The slump isn’t entirely surprising, though, as injuries have crippled the club. Guard Shaun Livingston has missed the past five games with a bruised tailbone, while forward Tyrus Thomas has also missed five straight games with a left knee injury. Other Bobcats are banged up, and they won’t be 100 percent again this season.

Miami hit a speed bump against the Bucks, but the Heat aren’t going to have any problems with Charlotte. The Bobcats are absolutely limping down the stretch, and the Heat will take advantage.
