hey are playing lots of close games lately with their last 5 victories all by 6 points or less. It makes you wonder if they are coasting.
LeBron James is enjoying another MVP type season leading the Heat in scoring, rebounding and assists while shooting an amazing 57% from the field. Not to be outdone Dwayne Wade is having the best shooting season of his career and his number are only down because he is not logging heavy minutes.

The same goes for Chris Bosh who is also shooting the ball near historical highs but is not having to log crazy minutes either.
The Heat are a disastrous 8-16 ATS at home but on the road they are 14-12-1. They are always one of the most public teams so they get bet up and it seems that they are only interested in winning not making an impression this season, which makes them dangerous for backers.
I like them in short favourite spots like this one though.

Dallas
Dallas is still one of the most surprising teams for me as they are solidly in the playoffs as we exist All-Star weekend. I thought they might fade after a hot start but they have won 7 of 10 and seemed to have done the ultimate in terms of making their team greater than the sum of their parts.
They have lots of players who have great track records but appear to be past their prime but they can no longer be called a fluke.
Lost among the high profile vets of this team is the play of Jose Calderon. All he is doing is averaging his usual 4 assists to every turnover ratio while keeping one of the highest scoring offenses in the league humming. It is not easy keeping scorers like Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis satisfied.
Surprisingly this team is succeeding even though they are loaded with former Raptors in Calderon, Vince Carter and Shawn Marion. All are making regular contributions.
It seems like all the good teams have solid home court records with lousy ATS numbers.
Dallas is no different as they are 18-8 SU but just 12-14 ATS compared to 19-9 ATS on the road. I expect this game to add to those totals with Miami getting the win as the small favourite. Dallas can rebound though.
Look to play on them at Philly the next time out.
