This is a big mismatch on paper, but the bookies don’t expect a blowout, as the point spread is relatively small.

Golden State has been great on both sides of the court this season. They average a league-best 109.2 PPG plus they rank 7th in rebounds (45.1 RPG), 1st in assists (26.8 APG) and 11th in points against (98.2 PPG).

Injuries to the frontcourt have hurt the depth of this team throughout the year, but David Lee is healthy and finally starting to play some more minutes. It’s crazy how injuries have hurt Lee’s career so much.

It wasn’t long ago that Lee was a force under the rim, but that’s no longer the case. The Warriors do have the best guard duo in the NBA though. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have both been lights out.

The sharp shooting duo combines for over 14 3-pointers per game. Thompson has really been lighting it up lately from beyond the arc. The young guards on the Jazz are going to be no match in this game.

Trey Burke has been playing better as of late, but Alec Burks is out with an injury for the season and that has hurt the Jazz depth. Joe Ingles is starting at SG and he has been very inconsistent up to this point.

Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward are the two best players on this team still, but they just aren’t able to lead a team on their own. Hayward is inconsistent and you never know when Favors won’t show up.

As a team the Jazz are below average in just about every major category. The defense is giving up 99.1 PPG (15th), which has been the bright spot on this team, as they only score 96.0 PPG (24th) on average.

Rebounding (42.4 RPG – 19th) and passing (20.2 APG – 24th) have also been bad for the Jazz. I’ll be going with the Warriors to smash the Jazz.

Utah is just 6-11 at home and the Warriors are strong anywhere.

Free NBA Picks: Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz

GSW have dominated this series lately, as they’ve won five in a row against Utah. The smallest win was by 5 points, but the other four wins were all by double digits, which is why I’ll gladly take GSW at just –7.

Golden State Warriors –7 (-110)

Thompson should explode in this game for the Warriors plus the x-factor will be Draymond Green who has been filling up the stat sheet all season. Covering –7 is never easy, but GSW is the way better team.
