New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors Preview

On the season the Pelicans are 8-8 ATS and they have an O/U record of 10-6 and the Warriors are 11-6 ATS and they have an Under record of 7-10.

This season the Warriors are 6-1 at home and the Pelicans 3-6 on the road.

In their last games the Warriors beat the Orlando Magic 98-97 and the Pelicans beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-104.

The Warriors are the hottest team in the league winners of 10 straight and they can match their longest winning streak ever with a win tonight. This game features the probable 2 front-runners for the MVP in Golden State’s Stephen Curry and New Orleans’ Anthony Davis.

The Warriors have won 7 straight against the Pelicans.

The Pelicans snapped their 3-game losing streak with their win over the Thunder and they have not won back-to-back games in nearly 3 weeks.

The Pelicans rank a legit 12th in the league in opponents’ points allowed and they need to play solid perimeter D tonight facing Curry and Klay Thomson, who are combining to average over 41 ppg.

It is no surprise that the Warriors have the league’s best record, as they rank 3rd in the NBA in scoring and a solid 7th in opponents’ points allowed.

Davis is having a monster 2nd season averaging 24.9 ppg, 11.3 rpg, and 3.1 blocks per game. However, he cannot do it all and needs help from his supporting cast. 2nd leading scorer Tyreke Evans went for a season high 30 points in the OKC win and he an the likes of Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holliday have to score tonight, especially if the Pelicans’ defense cannot keep the Warriors in check.

Andrew Bogut’s numbers are a bit down this season, but he is the anchor of the Golden State defense. He has the tall task of keeping Davis from having a big game. However, the last time these 2 teams met Davis had a monster game with 31 points and 17 boards and the Warriors still won by 10 points.

4* Cappers NBA Free Pick

The Warriors are on fire, but they only beat a weak Magic team by a single point in their last game. They will extend their winning streak tonight, but Davis and company will keep it close and the Pelicans will cover the 8-point spread.
