The Clippers won game 1 (107-92) in blowout fashion, but the Spurs won game 2 (111-107) in OT.

We’re in for a great game 3 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. I have the Clippers winning this series and I still believe they’ll be fine, although game 2 should be a good wake up call for them.

LAC dominated the opening game. They shot 51.3% from the field (40-78) and 55.6% from 3-point land (10-18), while the Spurs shot 36.6% from the field (34-93) and 30.3% from 3-point distance (10-33).

The Spurs were much better defensively in game 2 and they shot better from the field. However, they still struggled from distance. One area where the Clips are getting hurt is the charity stripe.

DeAndre Jordan is a combined 11-29 from the FT line in the series. The Spurs will continue to make it hard on Jordan and keep fouling him. Overall though, Jordan has been great in the series on both ends.

San Antonio may be an aging team, but they don’t show it. The Spurs scored an average of 103.2 PPG (7th) and allowed 97.0 PPG (3rd) this season, while the Clips score 106.7 PPG (2nd) and allow 100.1 PPG (16th).

Blake Griffin and Chris Paul have both been great as usual come playoff time. Griffin leads both teams in scoring (27.5 PPG), but Paul isn’t far behind at 26.5 PPG. Tim Duncan has led the way for the Spurs.

Duncan looked like he was in his twenties again in game 2. He went 14-23 from the field and finished the game with 28 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in 44 minutes of action.

Kawhi Leonard has been great in the series too and he’s clearly the future in SA. This will be a close game and I’m rolling with the Clippers to bounce back after learning a valuable lesson in game 2.

Free 4* NBA Picks: Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs

The game 2 loss should serve as a wake up call for the Clippers after blowing out the Spurs in game 1. I’ll be on the underdog in this one, as I think this game comes down to the wire and I want the +4 points.

Los Angeles Clippers +4 (-110)

Duncan isn’t likely to have another game like he did in game 2. He was electric to start the game, but cooled down as the game progressed. Tony Parker is also banged up now for the Spurs.
