ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

The Celtics (15-31) just haven’t been able to get things done going this season, and have lost two straight and 17 of 20 to drop a season-high 16 games below .500.

And things may have gotten worse, as second-leading  scorer — guard Avery Bradley (14.5 points) — is out with a sprained ankle.

Pulling out another win won’t be easy for Boston who is coming off and 85-79 loss to Brooklyn on Sunday and struggles offensively, shooting 28.8 percent from beyond the arc.

With Bradley out, it will be Rajon Rondo’s turn to shine, as the four-time All-Star played a season-high 30 minutes and recorded 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the loss to the Nets.

Rondo will try to keep that going against the Knicks, a team he is averaging 18.4 points, 12.8 assists and 8.6 boards in his last five games against.

Meanwhile, New York (17-27) continues a season-high eight-game home stand seeking a third consecutive win, following a 125-96 win over Charlotte on Friday, and a 110-103 win over the Lakers on Sunday.

Anthony has been hot during the streak, scoring  a career-best 62 points against the Bobcats and 35 versus the LA.

But it wasn’t just Anthony that turned up the juice. Four other Knicks scored in double figures, including Raymond Felton, Tim Hardaway Jr., J.R. Smith and Tyson Chandler who added 13 points  and 14 rebounds as New York held a 45-35 edge on the glass over the Lakers.

Nevertheless Anthony has not fared well against the Celtics, who have held him to 35.9 percent shooting in taking both matchups this season.

The seven-time All-Star had 19 points in a 114-73 defeat Dec. 8, then scored 26 in a 90-86 road loss five nights later.

Matt’s Prediction: The Celtics had dropped 10 straight on the road before beating Washington 113-111 in overtime Wednesday and need someone to step up at the offensive end, as they’ve averaged 81 points over their past two games and are shooting 28.8 percent from 3-point range,

In the meantime, the Knicks and Antony seem to be in a groove, and should have no problem dispatching Boston at home.

Knicks 106, Celtics 94
