For the 2nd and final time in the 2014-2015 season, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards will meet up. In the first matchup, the Thunder dropped 109 points, with 56 of those coming from Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant in a 109-102 victory.

Washington was led by Bradley Beal who scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Since that game, Washington’s defense has greatly improved and they’ll look to show that on Wednesday night.

Oklahoma City

The Thunder come in continuing to flirt with the break-even mark on the season. With a 21-20 record at the moment, Oklahoma City will look to push their current win streak to 4 straight on Wednesday night.

This will be the 2nd leg of a back-to-back for the Thunder as they went out and knocked off Miami 94-86 last night. Durant scored 19 and dished out 8 assists in the road win for the Thunder. The Heat did shoot 47.1 percent from the field, but Oklahoma City won the game by forcing 19 Miami turnovers.

They’ll look to continue the defensive pressure against Washington.

While Oklahoma City still sits 9.5 back of Portland for 1st place in the NBA Northwest Division, they still find themselves within striking distance of a playoff spot as they sit just 3 games back of Phoenix for the 8th seed. With plenty of time still left in the season, Oklahoma City has the chance to turn a 3-12 start into a playoff season.

The key will be staying healthy. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook average about 50 of the Thunder points on a nightly basis.

This is the 3rd of 5 straight road games for Oklahoma City. On the season, the Thunder are currently 9-13 away from home.

Washington

The Wizards continue to impress on all cylinders this season. Sitting in 2nd overall in the Eastern Conference and just 5 games back of Atlanta for the 1st spot, the Wizards have won 7 of their last 10 games. They’re doing it with good passing and lockdown defense.

Averaging 24.9 assists a game (4th), Washington’s John Wall has now pushed his season average to 10.0 assists a game.

On the defensive end, Washington allows just 96.9 points a game (3rd). In their last 7 victories, Washington has not allowed the opposition to reach over 100 points. An even more impressive stat, the Wizards have won 24 of 25 when holding the opponent to less than 100 points.

With contributions coming from different players every night, the Wizards look poised to give Atlanta a run for the top spot in the East. With 5 players averaging double figures, the Wizards bench is also helping out the cause on a nightly basis.

The likes of Kris Humphries, Nene, and Kevin Seraphin are all stepping up and giving productive minutes.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Thunder are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win.
  • Thunder are 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 road games
  • Wizards are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest.
  • Wizards are 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 vs. NBA Northwest.

Wednesday Night NBA Basketball

Thunder F Kevin Durant is averaging 30.2 points a game in his career vs. Washington. However, the Wizards have taken 9 of 11 from the head-to-head series in Washington.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Oklahoma City +1.5

This match up can go either way. If Durant and Westbrook are on, the Wizards could be in for a long night. If they can lock them down defensively, it could spell a lot of trouble for OKC and would need them to have players like Dion Waiters step up offensively.

Oklahoma City 103, Washington 98

In the end, expect the duo to have a night en route to a Thunder 4th straight win.
