Utah was dominated by Dallas and Houston to start the year, but they just blew out the Suns on Saturday.
Utah has a lot of young talent on the team, but they clearly won’t be able to compete with the top teams in the NBA on a consistent basis. The Jazz score 104.3 PPG (8th), but they also allow 105.0 PPG (28th).

If they can play harder on the defensive side they’ll win quite a few games this season. Favors leads Utah in points (21.7 PPG), rebounds (9.0 RPG), steals (2.0 SPG) and blocks (2.0 BPG) through three games.
The Clippers just lost at home to the Kings after opening the season with two wins. Jamal Crawford is a bit banged up already, but he’s probable tonight and that’s the only injury of note on both teams.
LAC is averaging 101.0 PPG (15th), 34.7 RPG (30th) and 21.7 APG (12th). They also allow 99.7 PPG (16th) on defense. I’m surprised about the rebounds, as the Clips have Jordan and Griffin in the paint.
Griffin leads the team in points (26.3 PPG) and has been off to a hot start from the field. Jordan leads the team in rebounds (10.7 RPG) and blocks (2.0 BPG). That’s why Jordan is paid and he’s doing a fine job.

Booker has been a pleasant surprise for the Jazz and Exum is still adjusting to the speed of the game, but he has done well off the bench. The problem is that the Jazz’s bench isn’t as good as the Clips.
The Clippers know how important it is to have a strong bench. Crawford comes off the bench and he’s 2nd on the team in points (19.0 PPG). Hawes is also scoring 10.0 PPG while other players are pitching in.
LAC is too good of a team to lose this one at home against a much weaker Jazz team. I think Favors will have a tough time to get going as well because Jordan is going to hound him in the paint all night.

I’m a fan of Utah’s young players including Burke and Burks. Hayward is also talented, but he still needs to work on his shooting consistency. The Jazz also struggle a bit more when playing on the road.

The Clippers just lost in front of their fans to the Kings and they’ll be hungry to bounce back tonight. This is a big point spread, but the Clippers should dominate on both sides of the court tonight.
