Minnesota

The Timberwolves are off to a rough start to begin their 2014-2015 campaign. Rookie sensation and first overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins has shown some glimpses of brilliance, but still hasn’t quite put it all together. Wiggins was acquired from the Cavaliers in a deal that sent former franchise player Kevin Love to Cleveland.

Coach Flip Saunders has been doing a good job with what he’s got and is trying to create some chemistry with all his young guys.

Minnesota brings a five game losing streak into this contest along with dropping nine of their last ten. The biggest problem they have had this year has been defense. The Timberwolves are allowing 108.4 points per game which ranks them 29th overall in the league.

In total scoring, the Timberwolves rank 20th scoring 98.2 points per game. Veteran Thaddeus Young leads the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

Andrew Wiggins is averaging 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds.

Since Jabari Parker went down a week ago with a knee injury, Wiggins looks to be the front-runner for rookie of the year.

Cleveland

The Cavaliers are coming off one of their biggest wins of the year after beating Memphis on Sunday and are on a two game winning streak. LeBron James and his troops are still trying to learn how to play with each other, but haven’t quite figured it out yet.

The defense has been the reason for the Cavaliers recent success. After a blowout loss at home to Atlanta, they have only allowed 91 points in each of their last two wins. Coach Blatt is the primary motivator behind that telling his team that is has to start on the defensive end.

With three superstars playing on one team it is hard to adapt to certain roles, but when the Cavaliers have played at their best they have been hard to beat. They rank 8th in the league in assists with 23.0 per contest and are 9-0 when recording 25 or more.

James leads the team in points and assists with 25.2 points per game and 7.2 assists. He is the leader of this team and it’s his responsibility to make sure this team is ready come playoff time.

Irving is second on the team in scoring with 19.7 per contest followed by Kevin Love who averages a double-double with 16.8 points and 10.5 rebounds.

NBA Handicapping Tips:

  • Timberwolves are 0-4 ATS in the last four games following a S.U. loss.
  • Timberwolves are 0-5 ATS in the last five games vs. Eastern Conference.
  • Cavaliers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games.
  • Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in the last five games vs. team with a losing record.
  • Timberwolves are 4-0 ATS in the last four head-to-head meetings.

NBA Gambling Prediction

The Cavaliers will most likely come out and win this game, but it’s unsure what team will show up for them. Some nights they play like they will never lose again and some nights it’s the complete opposite. 14 points is a lot of points for the Cavaliers to cover the spread, but it could be easily done.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: OVER 207.5

The Cavaliers are not a safe bet right now because of their inconsistency so I would stay away from taking them to cover the spread.

Cavaliers 112, Timberwolves 101

Minnesota is a very bad defensive team and Kevin Love will come out with some extra motivation tonight so expect a lot of points to be put on the board.
